The event, attended by 400 professionals from energy and defence sector, was inaugurated by the Chief of Staff, General Admiral Fernando García Sánchez. Antonio Brufau, Repsol’s Chairman; Pedro Miró, Enerclub’s Chairman, and the General Miguel Ángel Ballesteros, Director of the Spanish Institute for Strategic Studies, along with Arturo Gonzalo, CECME’s Chairman, also participated at the Opening Session of the event.
The excellent responses to the first and second editions in 2014 and 2015 respectively, have underpinned this fruitful cooperation as a benchmark in the sector, contributing to assess the evolvement of the geopolitical context, which is revealed as a core element to understand the current energy scenario. The contents of this third edition are the following:

The Impact of Jihadism on the Energy Sector.

Liquefied Natural Gas as a geopolitical factor (LNG).

Naval control of the Energy Maritime Routes.

Oil and Gas Prices and World Geopolitics.

A new trilemma: water, food and energy.
These topics have been debated by a panel where the authors and its moderator, Claudio Aranzadi, the ex-Minister for Industry, intervened.
Moreover, a Session for Final Comments was held at the end of the event, where Marta Camacho, Secretary General of CECME; General Miguel Ángel Ballesteros, and Claudio Aranzadi intervened.
