The World Energy Council's
publication "World Energy Trilemma" is shaped around the
challenging goals that governments face in securing competitive energy
supplies while providing universal energy access and promoting environmental
protection. It thus addresses three fundamental aspects of energy: security
of supply, social equity and mitigation of environmental impact. Each
year it aims to contribute to the development of a global framework for
transformation towards more sustainable energy systems.
Along with the World
Energy Trilemma, the Energy Trilemma Index is published
each year, which ranks more than 130 countries on the basis of their ability
to balance the three building blocks of the trilemma.
